topic New customer - already Fibre ready in My Order

Hi, have just signed up and been given an activation date a few weeks away as the system didn't detect my Openreach ONT connection. Don't think I need the engineer appointment, can I be activated quicker? I'm certain that it's connected and working as it's my current primary connection. Thanks

@Goose1 In that case, I don't quite understand why the system didn't detect your ONT. It must be active for you to get your current service, in which case, the change is remote, usually within 2-3 days

@Goose1 whilst its possible that the extended transfer date is due to not detecting the ONT , its also possible its due to 'anti slamming' rules in that there is a minimum of 10 days for a working takeover.

I'd give customer services a call to find out why ?

Vodaphone use both Openreach and City Fibre (and possibly other Altnets) to provide FTTP.

Is it an Openreach ONT you have or another nertwork's? Plusnet, being a BT company, only use Openreach and if the ONT you have is not an Openreach one then another will need to be fitted.

A quick look at the ONT the OP has will confirm if it Openreach or not.

Yes, that's when it does apply. When the order is placed there has to be time for notification to the losing supplier and any response (to them) by the customer to be able to stop the transfer.

Fair enough, @MisterW , but the OP says they have been given a date 'several weeks away' - don't know how many, but under those rules a fortnight should be the maximum?
