Keep my old landline

Hi,

I moved from Virgin Media through to Plusnet. My phone line has just come through and it’s an entirely different number. Is there anyway I can get the number ported over?

Sorry for the delayed response, we're really busy at the moment and taking longer than we'd like to get back to people. I'm also really sorry to hear that your number hasn't been ported over, do you know if this is still live with Virgin?

Thanks for getting back to me and confirming that, there is a previous order that was initially rejected but hasn't fully closed down. Your number is associated with this order so I'm just getting Openreach to clear off anything open so this is released, I'll then be able to go ahead with a renumber for you.

I'll check back on Tuesday and keep you updated.

A quick update: the order has been fully closed down that I referenced before but the number is still showing active on the Openreach network. They're now working on getting this free for me to be able to do a renumber. I'm going to check back on it in a couple of days and will keep you updated.

I'm still battling for your number but the end does seem to be nigh. I'm looking at this becoming free on 10th so I'm going to keep an eye out and let you know when I've got your renumber order through.

If you have a working phone then ring 17070 and it will tell you the currently allocated number.
