If it is laptop, then no.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Switching to Plusnet FTTP</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am switching from Shell Energy FTTC Fibre Broadband to Plusnet FTTP Broadband shortly. Anyone know if I should contact my current provider to let them know. The Plusnet website suggests that I don't need to contact my provider and that they will do that. However, the OFGEM website suggests that when moving from FTTC to FTTP I will need to contact my current provider.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;As far as i know you shouldn't contact your current provider though with FTTP it might be different.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Just to confirm you know PN don't offer a phone service.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your reply. Yes, I knew that PN FTTP does not have a phone service when I signed up. Will see how we do without a landline. Hoping that PN might offer a Digital Voice service in the future or might try a VOIP service.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have just signed up for full fibre broadband. When the engineers have been do I need to connect the router to the new box that will be installed. Does it also need to be connected to my computer as well or can it be in a totally different part of the house&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Your starting point is where your current copper cable comes into the house. There is some leeway as to where the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is installed but it must be within one metre of a power source. As mentioned, the Router is connected by an Ethernet cable to the ONT.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;As there is an 100 meter limit on Ethernet cables the router can go where ever you're happy to run cable.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If the new router is installed where your current one is then nothing changes within the house network apart from the internal WiFi identifier (SSID).&lt;/P&gt;
