Firefox says "expired certificate".

I just logged in to my router and had to click through warnings about an expired certificate from Firefox. I was just wondering how https is implemented on the router? How is certification handled? Has anybody else come across this since https was introduced?

Plusnet are joining other ISPs ( VM & EE ) in using a self signed certificate on their Hub / Router,
the result is an HTTPS connection to shield the credentials, the cost is all these browser warnings
that are off putting for many folks.

You shouldn't be seeing "Expired" certificate warnings, as the current self-signed certificate is valid to ~2035.

Hmm.. I only go to my hub homepage very occasionally but just tried again and got no warning. Hohum, another one on the "I never found out why that happened" list. 😀
