Hi,

Nobody turned up to fit the box but a few days later two chaps turned up to lay a conduit across my lawn, no warning, lucky I was in, next got a message saying more work was required to lay extra conduit,, luckily I asked an openreach chap and he looked and said the conduit was complete plus the rope to pull the fibre through was in place. I contacted Plusnet for clarification and they spoke to openreach who offered me a revised date for connection which has since occurred. Unfortunately the end of the conduit has been left open so openreach have to come and finish off. Unfortunately Plusnet account is messed up as the original install date would institute a cease on my phone line and they dare not set up a cease date for the early installation as when the second one comes around I may get cut off, time will tell,

Hi,

I have signed up for fttp from fttc and have been told it may be delayed due to " work being required", probably as I don't think fibre has yet been installed. Is there any way of finding out if the installation will be underground or overhead ? I have an appointment for this Thursday for the initial installation which I think is just to screw a box to the outside wall, hopefully their fitter will have some info. Will I need to have a new router or will my older one be ok, it's only about 3 months old?

What does it say for i'nstall process ' against WBC FTTP. Also what does the narrative below the availability matrix say ?

Normally the route of fibre is the same as your existing connection.
Do as @MisterW posted, others can then advise.

If your router us only 3 months old, it is more than likely a Hub 2. On the day of swap, disconnect the cable from the phone socket and use the ethernet cable, from the new ONT to the WAN port on the router.

Hi,

Went on the broadband checker as advised, ploughed through the abbreviations and it seems to say that fibre is installed, don't think so, no new telegraph poles or holes in the street, just have to wait and see, thanks for replies,

If Full Fibre is installed then the Checker will advise that an ONT (Optical Network Termonal) exists.

Post a copy of the narrative on here.
