If you setup a IP Address reserve on the AX73 I would leave the MAC M1 to use DHCP, using DHCP will allow mobility between wired networks for the M1

Also turn off the WiFi interface on the M1 as it would not be required with a ethernet connection.

If you're on Full Fibre and talking about connecting the AX5400 directly to the ONT then connect its WAN port to the ONT

If you're on part Fibre then set the HUb 2 to Bridge mode and connect the AX5400 to one of the Hub 2 's LAN ports

In both cases the settings you need for the AX5400 WAn are here https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/ , you need the 'what settings should I use for a fibre router that's connected to a BT openreach modem'

Hi MisterW,

Thank you for your answer. I have my router directly connected to the ONT, so I am using it as Wireless Router Mode, and all the settings are ok, and the wifi works perfectly; however, the Ethernet network is still not working. I do not know if I have to add something to the router settings or to the computer (MacMini M1). I am adding pictures of the details that the connection shows:

It would seem that your MacMini isnt getting an IP address via DHCP. I would normally say to check that the DHCP server is enabled on the router but since wireless clients are working, that wouldn't seem to be the problem.

TBH I have little or no experience with Mac's.

but are you sure the ethernet cable is ok ?

have you got any other device with a LAN port to check ?

have you tried a different LAN port on the AX73 ?

"Self-assigned IP"

This suggests the Mac Mini M1 is not connected to a network with a live DHCP sever or the DHCP server is OFF.

Are you connected directly to the AX73, have you blocked the device using the AX73 management screens or tether app?

You could try creating a manual IP Address on the M1, make sure you use an IP address in the routers network range.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply.

The DHCP is ON, see image below.

I set up a reserved IP for the Mac using the MAC address, see images below.

Then, I manually set up the IP on the Mac, see below.

After that, the Ethernet connection became green and shows "connected," but there is no internet connection, and the WiFi connection stops working on the Mac.

I do not know what else I have to try or if there is a mistake in any of the settings

Thank you again for your help.

Yes of course, but when the router assigns an IP address via DHCP it would normally supply its own address as the DNS server. It acts as a caching server and forwards DNS requests to the upstream servers provided by the ISP.

Thank you all for your answers. I tried everything and it still is not working. I do not know if there is a network problem at home, or with the mac mini, I will try other computers to see if with other PCs works or not, and then see on the TP forum if someone knows something else. Thank you again for your answers.
