topic BE550 Internet Connection in My Router

Hi,

Newbie here.

I have a full fibre connection using the Hub2. Unfortunately this doesn't support a USB connection on the rear. I wanted to get a new router to support USB storage devices. Ultimately the aim is to get rid of MS one drive as I don't use office enough to make the subscription worthwhile. I bought a TP link BE550 router as this was recommended in a leading consumer magazine. I've followed the instructions on the forum about setting the Hub2 to bridge mode. However, when I do this the pink light on the hub two illuminates which tells me that bridge mode is not supported with full fibre.

I can access into the BE550 with no issues.

How can I get the BE550 to connect to the internet via the Hub2? Any gentle step by step guide would be appreciated.

TIA

Tom

How can I get the BE550 to connect to the internet via the Hub2?

You don't!. Just remove the Hub2 completely, connect the BE550 WAN port directly to the ONT. Configure the Be550 Internet connection for PPPoE with your Plusnet credentials. Username is <youraccountname>@plusdsl.net and password is the one you use to access the member centre (https://www.plus.net/member-centre/login)

Welcome to the forum.

You need to setup using this:-

"Internet connection type" - PPPoE using your account username in this format accountname@plusdsl.net

"Password" - is the one used for the members centre.

IPTV/VLAN is set to Off

ONT LAN port to BE5500 WAN port, cat5e or above cable
