is there a link to request a new router. renewed contract a couple of months ago and broadband went down a few days ago but has now been fixed but engineer said should replace the router.

@Bcresswell Do you know which Hub they have, and roughly how old it is? The 'replace the router' is a standard engineers suggestion, even if it isn't relevant.

its was a free one issued when she switched to plus net. just done 3rd 18 month contract renewal.

as said its not for me but elderly neighbour but I did get her to switch to plus.net as was overpaying on previous contract.

Dont exactly know what engineer said but she has been off for last 5 days and she said " felt totally isolated " not being on socials. so its more of a get a new one for cheapest price for her in case old one gives up.

OK, I'm going to guess it is a Hub2 in that case, and at only 4.1/2 years old, I don't know if PN would replace it, unless it was faulty, which it doesn't sound like, to me.

You could always get your neighbour to ring PN - whilst you were there, let her do the security checks, and then ask the agent if she could pass the phone to you and see what they say.

Excuse my butting in, but I'm wondering what the elderly neighbour's home telephone situation currently is - do they have a working landline and who with?

I ask because it occurs to me the engineer's remark about replacing the router might possibly be related to continuing use of a home telephone as much as to do with broadband. Just a thought.
