Start again from scratch. This post is old but still relevant: https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-A-BT-Smarthub-An-Update/m-p/Edit1795292#M24601

Edit:

In the distant past I seem to remember that some hubs did not like special characters in passwords. I found that at the time, whilst Plusnet asked for these characters, a password of just alpha numeric ones were accepted. But as I say, all this was years ago. Unless you need to split the 2.4 and 5GHz wireless bands, or you have a Smarthub 2 working with mesh satellites, the Plusnet Hub 2 is just as good, better in some aspects..

The BT Hub needs to be in a disconnected from your internet connection.

Depending on connection DSL or WAN, disconnect that cable, hopefully that will allow you to add the correct username (accountname@plusdsl.net) and password.

Edit: answer assumes you have access to the Hub Home page and I you are trying to setup the broadband username.

I got it up & running again with help of plusnet we then tried to change password then once again couldn’t get hub manager to open or load on page & no internet. Eventually with help of another plusnet agent I restarted rather than shutdown computer moved the Ethernet to different ports got it up & running. Bit hesitant to reset passwords. But thanks for your help.

Yes I did use this old post but for some reason couldn’t bring up the hub page. Never had a problem previously loading the hub. But restart rather than shutdown seemed to do the trick but maybe coincidental. Thanks for the input though. Info really was useful.
