topic Queston Regarding DHCP IPs On Hub2 in My Router

When I open a device entry on the Hub 2 (for instance to change its name etc.) I notice that the line containing "Always use this IP address:" is always already marked as "Yes" by default. This is a bit ambiguous but does it mean that the Hub 2's default is to effectively allocate an IP lease to a device indefinitely whether or not you make any changes? (Aside from if you save it as "No" of course).

Now why don’t you just go and be stupid somewhere else if you don’t know the answer. There’s no “can” about it, you can always save a change of course. FWIW my original comment makes perfect sense, is correct English and means exactly what it says!

@quelquod

I just factory reset my Hub two and found that IP Address is set to "Always use this IP Address" I see no reason why DHCP would not always assign that address.

To change the IP Address to one of your choice I used these steps

With the device requiring the IP change, ensure it's disconnected or turned off.

For the device make Always use this IP Address No and save

Then change back to Yes and change the IP Address to your choice, then save

Hopefully it will work for you.

Having Static IP Addresses on a device assigned by DHCP is not a major issue to me, I do not recall Always use this IP Address being set to Yes before, but then I haven't had cause to carry out any IP assigning recently

Hope this helps.
