Typically you will see devices and IP that has been allocated by DHCP.
It may be displayed at some point, but I'd not worry as it should work regardless. Just make sure the engraver has the Hub IP set for the default gateway and DNS server.

I have a Hub2 and I need to connect a device which can only use a static IP address, which is set within the device. Normally on other routers I have used in the past there is an obvious option to assign an IP address as static, which then prevents it from being dynamically allocated in the future. I cannot work out how to do this on the Hub2. My device is plugged into Port 2 on the back of the Hub2 and works just fine if I first ensure that nothing has already been allocated that address dynamically. The Hub2 reports that the device is there, and shows it has a static IP address. However once the device is switched off, the Hub2 just goes ahead and reallocates the IP address dynamically to the next thing that comes along wanting one - causing problems and a lot of hassle next time the device is switched on and needed to be used 😞 It's not an option to leave the device switched on all the time as it is a laser engraver. Has anyone been able get a Hub2 to reserve a particular IP address as static and have it stay that way once the connected device is turned off? If so, how did you do it?

@teknomage welcome to the forum.

>Advanced Settings >My Network is where you go to setup Static IP addresses, when selecting the device you make YES "Always use this IP Address" From my experience this not always work

I am surprised the device clears from the connected devices list as the I thought the Hub listed previously connected devices.

I would expect to find it listed in the "Show Disconnected" device list

Maybe make the device you want to have a static IP Address in the range 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.63. That way the Hub's DHCP server will not issue your chosen IP

I have been in Advanced settings and made the device static, but as you say it does not seem to have worked. In fact when the device is off, it is still listed as a disconnected device, despite its IP address being reallocated to something else! I did wonder about using an address in the range 92.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.63 but didn't know if Plusnet wanted to use them for something else??? Again with previous routers I have used, it's up to the administrator to define what the range of dynamic addresses is used at first set up. I'm not very familiar with domestic broadband setups from the big providers as I've always just bought my own routers in the past!! I shall try tomorrow and set the device to 192.168.1.63 and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for your suggestions.

You can if you wish use your own router.

The Hub Two can be configured to 'bridge mode' which makes it a modem only device which would be required for a copper based service.

For Full Fibre a router can be connected directly to the ONT.

The WAN would need to be configured for a PPPoE connection.

As an update, I changed the IP address to 192.168.1.63 on the laser engraver and this seems to have worked. It's plugged into port 2 on the back of the hub 2. Weirdly, the hub doesn't report that it exists (or show that anything is connected to port 2) - except in the log file, which correctly shows it connecting and disconnecting as it is used. I presume the hub only shows information for devices within the defined dynamic address range?
