If you previously had full fibre from BT using the same ONT

then all that should be necessary, is to login at http://192.168.1.1

find the WAN PPPoE settings, and replace the BT username and password, with your new Plusnet credentials.

Nothing else should need to change.

I don't understand why you're trying to clear your BT WiFi SSIDs, as presumably all your devices already use those settings.

I have just moved from BT to Plusnet and am trying to set up my Netgear RAX70 again, but I'm not able to connect to the Netgear router network to enable it. I'm using the Netgear wizard app on my mobile but when I go through the "new set up" option and try and connect to the Netgear network, it isn't listed. It's still displaying the old BT wifi networks, which I can't get rid of.

I've tried resetting the router but no joy there, and have looked at various remedies offered by the Netgear forums, all to no avail.

Anyone who has swapped to using a Netgear router instead of the Plusnet Hub2 have any pointers as to where I'm going wrong? I'm guessing there's a setting somewhere that needs changing, heaven only knows what it is though!

The RAX70 worked perfectly when I was with BT and I thought it would be seamless transfer, how wrong was I!

Thanks in advance

Have you tried doing a FACTORY RESET by inserting a paperclip in the 'Reset' hole on the back

Typically the device should be powered on and the reset button held for at least ten second.

If it’s still displaying the old BT settings then you are not factory resetting it.

Alternatively, a long shot, but have you tried clearing your browser cache?

I've just done a factory reset on the Plusnet Hub2 and logged back in, but all the old BT networks are still showing alongside my new Plusnet one. But if I go into Advanced Wifi Settings, Manage Networks, they're not showing there! Weird.

Have cleared Cache too.

I don't understand why it wasn't a simple case of plugging the cable from the ONT straight into the Netgear LAN socket, exactly as it was set up before with BT. Very frustrating.

That is exactly what you should be doing, the Netgear WAN port should connect directly to the ONT.

All that needs changing is the PPPoE username and password to the plusnet one provided. You do not need to enable IPv6 for the WAN connection as it not used by plusnet

Yes, I did have BT using the same ONT. But I can't log in to 192.168.1.1. I'm just getting "This site cannot be reached " message and then times out. I'm currently on my PC and logged into the Plusnet wifi using the HUB2 if that makes any difference?

I just thought the old BT SSIDs should be cleared so as to avoid confusion? All my devices are now using the new Plusnet setting, via the HUB2, as I can't get the Netgear to work properly.

Apologies, but I'm finding this all very confusing

The SSID has nothing to do with the ISP; it is only by convention that a SSID reflects the ISP's brand when you use THEIR router. If you have replicated the SSID from your BT service on to your Netgear router ... then that will not change unless you change it. There is no necessity to change the existing SSID just because you have changes ISPs. You can call your WiFi SSID anything you want.

As advised, connect to the BT names SSID and change the WAN connection credentials.

It is essentially a seamless transfer if you use the ISP supplied router - plug it in and it just works (but you woud need to change the WiFi connection details on every device ... or change the SSID details to be the same as those for the BT SSID.

If you want to user your own router, then you need to know what you are doing. As advised, change the WAN connection details.
