Hi,
I have a Hub Two, can I advise people who wish to gain internet access at a location the Encryption type best selected, for my old Hub One I advised:

For Encryption select WPA-PSK
Version: WPA+WPA2
Encryption Type: AES

Has any of that changed for the Hub Two please, thanks.

What is the current encryption on your Hub2? I'm no expert, but I would imagine the default would be set at the most secure possible.

As to WPS - if you don't intend to try and connect any other devices via that method, you can turn it off, but from a 'security' point of view in a domestic environment, I would regard it as overkill.

It should not be necessary to advise what encryption is being used as the connecting device will auto configure to the required encryption.

There is no harm leaving WPS enabled unless you want to control who can connect to your hub as WPS removes the need to for the network key to connect to your wireless network.

Edit: the Hub Two uses WPA2 / AES

It should not be necessary to advise what encryption is being used

Thanks for the comments.
I wrote out this advice for users regarding Encryption types around 10 years ago, I cannot remember why - sure it was just a helpful pointer if users needed to know - as some devices presented them with various options, and it confused them, and me at times.
Do modern day desktop and mobile encryption type negotiations with say wireless routers - keep everything under the hood, and find the best suited method without choosable options, depending on devices.

(and a good reason to be using up to date devices from a security point of view)

The wireless router access is not in a family/familiar environment, so WPS I think should be disabled.

Yes.

The wireless access point in this case a Hub Two sets the Security and Encryption used, I can not recall ever having to configure any wireless device for Security or Encryption method.

The Hub Two uses WPA2 and AES, if a wireless router used WPA2/WPA3 then I'd expect the connecting device to use WPA3 in preference to WPA2 if available on the connecting device

HTH
