I've seen other reports of people having problems with PPPoE on the Google wifi but I've also seen some reports of people with it working.

Here's one for instance (albeit on BT broadband) https://community.bt.com/t5/Archive-Staging/Replacing-BT-Home-Hub-with-Google-Nest-WiFi-Issues-FTTP/td-p/2114582/page/2 which seemed to work after TWO factory resets !! go figure.

I have followed the suggested username@plusdsl.net and put in my password word.

Just to confirm , if your plusnet username was xyz123 then you would use xyz123@plusdsl.net and the password is the one you use to access the member centre at https://www.plus.net/member-centre/login

Hi, I joined Plusnet a few months back and wanted a mesh network.

Bought a Google WIFI Pro as I already have a lot of Google kits around the house.

After trying multiple times, I cannot connect via PPPoE to Open Reach OPT. I have followed the suggested username@plusdsl.net and put in my password word.

Unfortunately, on the Google app, I keep getting 'Configuring PPPoE failed. Please note that VLAN ID tagging is not supported.'

Has anyone had this issue, or is it that Google wifi is rubbish and I should invest my money in some other kit?

@tatetech23 VLAN tagging is irrelevant as far as the router is concerned. The ONT automatically inserts & removes it, thus it is not required by, or visible to, any router.

If there is any VLAN ID settings in the Google wifi configuration make sure its disabled or set to 0.

Google have the app locked down and the only setting DHCP, Static IP or PPPoE

I don’t believe VLAN tagging is the issue just thought I would post the hole error message.
