Brother printer won't connect to LAN

Hi, just had a PlusNet router installed about an hour ago. Laptop is fine with the new LAN. Printer is not. Tried to print, realized it was offline. Pressed Wifi button. Clicked on 'set up wifi'.
It tried for a while then printed out a page of instructions I mostly do not understand at all.
Can anyone help this non-techie person? Thanks!

@dleedlpt Could be that the printer has still got your previous routers details stored. I don't know Brother printers, but there should be instructions on how to clear its memory in the handbook.

I'm assuming that

Pressed Wifi button. Clicked on 'set up wifi'.

Deletes current settings, and puts the printer into searching for wifi networks... (might be wrong of course)

Ah! thinking about it , the printer is probably trying to use WPS

@dleedlpt did you press the WPS button on the Hub 2 ? Its on the back LHS

I've just looked at a manual, I've no idea if it's your model but this one has WPS set up.

Try pressing the WPS button on the left hand side of the hub, you should get a flashing blue light on the side. Then immediately go to the printer and press the WiFi button THREE times only.

When I have moved my CANON printer between Hubs/routers, I have had to carry out a manual reset procedure before using WPS to reconnect it.

Thanks. I've done a reset (not the factory one) which seems to be the nearest thing.

Thanks, did that. Pressed the WPS button, got the flashing blue light, pressed the Wifi button on the printer 3x but all it did was invite me to 'set up wifi'. Tried again, same.

I've done some sort of reset sequence on the printer. Not the 'factory' one.

@dleedlpt ~~Do a full factory reset of the printer - you need to clear its internal memory of any previous settings/connections.~~

Check the manual - there is a section in there titled 'Reset Network Settings' - Follow that, switch the machine off and back on again, and then retry the WPS setup,

That printer is only 2.4ghz WiFi. Try turning off the 5 GHz WiFi on the router, connecting the printer and then turning it back on

This is odd. I tried similar combinations again, and it seemed to work - the printer screen said wifi was set up, and it printed a WLAN Report page that just said 'Connection: OK'

I thought great, I'll print something. But the print dialogue on the computer says 'the printer is not responding.'

So the computer is on the LAN, and the printer thinks it is too, but it won't respond to the computer.

I am out of my depth!

The IP address of the printer has probably changed, so (assuming its windows) you will probably need to remove and add the printer again.

Thanks. It's a MacBook Pro. I succeeded in uninstalling the printer. Then tried to reinstall it but the computer dialogue said 'Cannot communicate with printer.'

Can you print out a status page. This will give you the ip address of the device. This will ensure that it is indeed connected to your router. Should be something like 192.168.1.xxx

Yes, thanks. Got the IP address. Went into the printer setup dialogue and tried the fields I've used before, didn't work.

Tried an option I've never used before, 'Internet Printing Protocol', which said it had worked, but when I tried printing it said 'cannot communicate with printer' again.
