topic TP-Link OneMesh and Hub Two issue in My Router

Hi everyone. I have been using the TP link OneMesh system for some time and loved it but today it all seems to have gone wrong!

I have a Hub Two to which an Archer C6 router is connected and a variety of extenders connected to the Archer C6. It was such a long time ago that I set it up I cannot recall how I did it.

Today the Archer C6 has no network connection. I’ve tried factory resets on both Archer C6, Hub Two and even checked if there is a fault on the line. No joy.

I have temporarily admitted defeat and switched the Archer C6 off and am just using the Hub Two. I miss it already!

Can anyone advise how I would go about setting this up again from scratch? Do I need to start with Hub Two and setting it to bridge mode? Thank you

Hi @eeleel welcome to the forum.

For best performance for your setup I would recommend setting the Hub two to bridge mode and the Internet connection of the C6 to use a PPPoE.

The following instructions are for FTTC (Unlimited Fibre), if you have FULL Fibre skip to the C6 instructions as the Hub is not required. C6 WAN connects to the Fibre ONT

Hub Two - bridge mode setting can be found here http://192.168.1.254 >Advanced Settings >Broadband, switch Bridging to YES and save. This will be reboot the Hub, the lights will be a pink colour.

TP-Link C6 - connect the WAN port to one of the 3 LAN ports of the Hub Two NOT the WAN port

Under Internet select PPPoE in the drop down and add your plusnet broadband username and password.

Username - yourusername@plusdsl.net and the password for the account.

(yourusername is your members centre login username and password with @plusdsl.net added to the username)

I would suggest getting this to work before moving on to adding the mesh units.

Which One mesh system are you using? Quick Guides can be found on the TP-Link site.

Come back if you need further help.

HTH

EDIT: I recommend taking a backup once everything works for ALL the TP-Link devices

Thank you for replying! Turns out I had already followed the steps below, I was doubting myself that I had misunderstood something as routers are not my strong point in life!

When I complete the steps below i.e. set Hub Two to bridge and Archer C6 to PPPoE the internet access light on the Archer C6 stays amber. When I go into the settings of the Archer C6 it says that it is connecting but I never get a successful connection to the internet. Any ideas of what I could try next?

I thought the Archer C6 may have been faulty but I managed to get it working as an access point today, but I need it working as a router for the one mesh functionality.

I just wanted to check a basic thing, the password for setting up PPPoE is my usual plusnet one? The one I use to access my account, bills etc.? If I have this wrong no wonder it will not connect! Thanks again

When the Hub2 is in bridge mode its light should be purple
