Hi @kevinorangepeel welcome to the forum.

Most of the settings mentioned in the Bose article are not found on any menu of the Hub Two

UPnP Firewall setting is enabled by default, the Wireless recommendation would be Mode 2.

As you have found out it is not possible to split the 2.4 and 5GHz wireless names.

There is no requirement to use the plusnet supplied Hub so you can buy you're own, do you still have your previous ISP DSL/Router? What model, as it might be possible to use it with plusnet

Are you using a copper based service (ADSL/FTTC) or Full Fibre.

Hello team,
I have three Bose smart speakers (300, 500 and Portable) that I link together via WiFi to play simultaneously i.e. same music on all 3 speakers. The Bose Music app makes the connection but since I've joined Plusnet the speakers keep falling out of sync. The speakers start in sync after a hard reset but will randomly drop out so a song is a split second or even give seconds out of sync - my guess is the WiFi signals between each device are glitching somehow.

Can anyone help me know if I can access the settings on this page through the Hub Two settings? https://www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/support/articles/HC1380/productCodes/bose_home_speaker_500/article.html - I've managed to change things like WPS and channels but can't access for example Multicast or IGMP. I've had a look at the router log and tried things like switching off Chromecast but nothing makes a lasting difference. They're all on the same 5ghz mode and I've tried Mode 1/2/3 as well as turning off smart channels. No joy!

Alternatively does anyone also use Bose speakers and have any ideas for fixes? I've contacted Bose but they haven't been much help.

Hi @Dan_the_Van thanks for the welcome and advice. Good to know I'm not missing something obvious, and I'll try Mode 2 for a sustained stretch.
I have full fibre broadband.
I sent my old router back as I'm too much of a do-gooder! I can trawl Olio/Freecycle for routers - would a Plusnet Hub One be any good? Or do you have a type you think would allow changing these settings?

@kevinorangepeel a Hub one will at least allow you to split the wifi bands BUT it will have a throughput limitation of around 30Mb on the upstream.

The Hub One wireless might have less range.

From my experience of TP-Link routers they have many models which are configurable, but I suspect many other makes would as well, I would avoid ISP supplied devices as they are locked down to prevent users messing up!

With a new router only device you will be able to future proof your setup with a model that supports WiFi 6

HTH
