I am just considering renewing my FTTC Plusnet contract so thought perhaps I should also upgrade from Hub 1 to Hub 2, however reading other posts I understand there are only 2 LAN Ports, at present I am using all 4 LAN Ports on my Hub 1.

If I do upgrade to Hub 2 is there a problem with adding something like a 4 or 7 port LAN Extension?

Anyone doing this and what extender are they using?

Thanks in advance.

There are 3 available LAN ports on the Hub 2.
You'll need to get an ethernet switch to connect to the hub 2.
I have multiple switches in my setup and it works fine. I have some of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07HP6ZLSM

But any gigabit switch should be fine

@Richchad There are three LAN ports - all you need to do is purchase switch to extend the available number.

Plenty on, for instance https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=network+switch&crid=3EI3T0N89QDKT&sprefix=netwo%2Caps%2C97&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_5

Just make sure that any ethernet switch you buy is spec'd as 10/100/1000.

Some cheaper ones are only 10/100, so will introduce a bottleneck on your network.

fwiw, I posted some info on variety of switches a few weeks ago:

Have a search through these forums and you’ll find links to a USB powered one that just plugs into the back of the Hub, no need for external power.
