topic Can I use Hub One PSU with my new Hub Two in My Router

I have just re-contracted with Plusnet and received a new Hub Two to replace my Hub One only to discover that the Hub Two PSU plug pins are aligned the opposite way than the Hub One. See photo.

The Hub Two PSU cannot now be plugged into the same socket as the Hub One was because it fouls other plugs. I can get around this by fitting a 2-way plug adapter which raises the PSU above the other plugs but it is not a neat solution and I was wondering if I can use the Hub One PSU with the Hub Two?

I have checked (with the power off) that the Hub Two PSU can actually plug- in to the Hub Two and the power output is the same, as can be seen on the photo.

Can anyone see a reason why I shouldn't use the Hub One PSU to power the Hub Two?

Thanks in advance.

@Madeleyite The output voltage and current ratings are the same so as long as the Hub 1 power connector fits the Hub 2 you will be fine. You've probably checked this already but it's not what you posted .... " the Hub Two PSU can actually plug- in to the Hub Two " I guess that's a typo.😀

Thank you. Yes, that's a (big) typo and yes I did mean that I had tried the Hub One PSU plugged into the Hub Two socket and it seemed to fit okay. I did this with the power off just in case but I will try it out 'for real' later on now that I have an expert's opinion. 🙂 I'll report back later regarding success or not.

Why can't Plusnet pay attention to details that have an impact in the real world and leave the PSU pin orientation the same on all PSUs? 🙁

The Hub One PSU works fine with the Hub Two so that's sorted. 😁
