Hi all,

I'm hoping someone out there can help me with a persistent daily disconnect issue.

Currently setup wioth BT Openreach modem connected to line. WAN out to Netgear R8000 running FreshTomato firmware.

Connection to WAN is live but disconnects approximately every 24 hrs.

Current settings for WAN0 are PPPoE with my plusdsl.net username and appropriate password.

Connect Mode - Keep Alive
 Redial - 20
 LCP Echo Interval - 10
LCP Echo Link fail limit - 5

MTU - Default

In Advanced, VLAN is configured as;

VLAN 1 | VID 1 | WAN ticked | Tag WAN ticked | ETH ports 1 2 3 and 4 ticked | Default VLAN ticked | Ethernet to bridge mapping set to LAN0 (br0)

R8000 is connected to Tenda Wifi Mesh and HP Procurve 24port switch.

Everything works great except for the daily WAN disconnects for which the only fix is to restart the router. Clicking reconnect doesn't get anywhere.

I'm (embarrassingly) an IT professional with 35 years experience but sadly networking is not my best subject.

Any help with someone who really understands Tomato firmware would be greatly appreciated.

Otherwise I'll have to go back to the Hub 2 which although a capable device, it isn't what I want to use.

Thanks.

Wow that was a quick reply. Thank you. I'll plug the hub 2 in and set it up to bridge and see how things go from there. I'll try to see if I can get some DSL stats.

Though I'd post a quick update. Since using the Hub 2 as a modem in bridge mode I've not yet had any disconnects.

Looking good so far. If all stable in a couple of days I'll mark this as fixed.

Thanks for the help all.
