Ok, thanks. At least I know now.

While I'm here one other little question: Is there any way to set the Wifi to a channel other than 1, 6 or 11?

Hi, I've got the Plusnet Hub Two, I've just been analysing the wifi channels in use around my home (to work out the best channels to use)

It looks like the Plusnet Hub is putting out a 'hidden' wifi network on the 2.4 Ghz band and the 5 Ghz band (even though I've got 5ghz turned off). I'm pretty sure its the Plusnet hub because the 'hidden' networks are exactly the same strength and channel as the official ones, and they disappear when I turn off the hub.

What are they and how do I get rid of them?

Thanks

This is an unused feature from the BT Smarthub 2, it is used as the mesh backhaul on the BT version. It is not used on the Plusnet version. Hopefully it will be removed from some future firmware update.

The only way to switch them off is to turn off both wireless bands using the global WiFi switch in the advanced wireless settings. Note that switching off the individual bands will not remove them.

There is - I think, don't use a PN Hub, so can't confirm, but there is little point in doing so as those are the only non-overlapping channels.

No, not with the Hub Two.

As has been mentioned, 1, 6 and 11 are the only 2.4GHz channels that don't overlap.
