Vigor 130 + Asus RT-AC86U: What's the correct setup of both devices?

Hi,

Im unsure if i should use just PPPoE or Bridge mode(MPoA) and the correct settings in each and how they differ?

I understand about the VLAN tagging, again should this be entered only on modem or Router as well?

Please help me.

Configure the Vigor into bridge mode with VLAN tag 101 for VDSL2/FTTC:

Configure the Asus to use PPPoE.

I don't have VLAN tagging set in my router, but it is set on my Vigor 130 as shown below -

I have my router configured with the PPPoE settings, but use MPoA "Bridge Mode" on my modem as shown below -

If you have only a single /32 WAN address then you can use either PPPoE or MPoA on your modem.

I have a /30 block of FOUR WAN addresses and using MPoA gives me access to all four WAN connections.

While you are setting up your Vigor 130, make sure you have the latest version 3.8.4.1_BT firmware installed, which can be downloaded from here - https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/vigor-130

On 17th May 2022, DrayTek released new firmware version 3.8.5_BT for the Vigor 130 modem

I've done the upgrade to my modem and it seems to be working fine.
