Been there before,
I'd been through many other retro games sites.
DOSGamesArchive.com
DOSGames.com - Game Index
You may find more in Torrents/General Links as entire Compilation Archives of an entire generations/series of games,
(usually no more than a set of floppy disks if they're fairly old games).
Not entirely sure on the full in's and outs of the leagality issues reguarding this distribution?
but so long a it is abandonedare I would have thought it's still ok?
This is probably recent history to some people, but it's old in my terms
I used to play Xargon, Chips Challange etc ...
very fun challange on good old 386's/486's at Primary School on a wet boring day.
Not many of these sites really have all the games,
but they have a fair selection of the more famous Abandoned Titles.
Most of these games seem to be run in DOSBox
nowadays where people don't have the original platform (and don't really have a need),
it's entirely up to you how you choose to run them,
nothing beats the feel of original platforms of the time in my opinion
Jim,

Home of the Underdogs - abandonware games

Abandonware - are people aware of its existence in general?
Basically these are games that the makers have recognised that they can no longer make any money from sales of, and have released them into the public domain.
So basically if there's a game you used to play a few years ago and now can't find, take a look at the following site:
http://www.the-underdogs.info/
It may well be that you can download it from there for free!
I'm only posting this because I was looking for the Amiga version of Stunt Car Racer - anyone remember this? 3D racing game along some pretty impossible tracks that really got quite tense as you worked your way up the league. Well I found it on the above site for the PC (though I know amiga emulation is possible it's not really worth it when dosbox is so much easier) and have had a highly entertaining weekend.
Hope a lot of others get as much fun out of this as I did.
