topic Changing to fibre in Full Fibre

I am currently on ADSL and nearly always getting a good deal, I have re-contracted about 10 days before the current agreement end date, with the new deal starting at the end of the old.

This time, I am considering fibre, but wonder if I need to recontract earlier as a number of people are having to wait for the new router.

If the router takes time ,meaning one has to use ADSL, how is the cost impacted, as the end date for the discounted ADSL is passed? Still charged at deal rate, charged at full price or charged for fibre while it's not available ?

As experienced by several customers, my end date and term length are wrong ( 1st April/12 months instead of 20th April/18months), so, on initial reading, I thought the special for current customers offer on fibre ,would be worth taking, even using the incorrect, 3 weeks early end date) Actually it's more than a number of others, including John Lewis, who resell Plusnet.

However I read the small print :

Terms and price changes apply (including the price for broadband, line rental, call plans, call charges and any BT Sport services being increased by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation published in January 2022 plus 3.9% on the 31st March 2022 if you take this offer before 31st March 2022).

...showing it's not such a good offer to give up 3 weeks of my current one for, as the offer will not exist after March, the price being increased. The quotation expresses this in a very odd way , saying price increases will apply from March 31st if you take the offer before that date [price increases will apply if you take the new offer, from April 1st, too]

I may just jump ship, this time, and take a very similar, increased offer, but with a significantly priced gift card.
