Spoke to Plusnet, who logged a ticket with BT Openreach, who are currently on my roof fixing the problem.

All done in the space of a couple of hours.

Broadband Cable

In the recent storms, my overhead broadband cable has pulled some of the wooden fascia board off my house. The cable is still attached and the connection is fine. But the wood is hanging loose in the wind, still attached to the cable and slightly attached to the house. I'm worried it'll catch the wind again and pull out the cable.

My landlord says BT/Openreach need to fix it, but numerous things I've read online say I may need to go through you guys to get a ticket raised.

Can anyone offer any assistance? Should I go straight to Openreach, or do I need something from Plusnet?

Any help much appreciated.

@Jamesdavies85 Yes, you will have to go through Plusnet to get Openreach out, but I don't think it is really their responsibility to re-attach the facia, although they may well do - depends on the engineer(s) you get.

PlusNet may well instigate a repair for you but in this case it appears you can go direct as it's damage and not a fault.

That is what you call impressive service - especially given the amount of damage around.

Hiya @Jamesdavies85, thanks for getting in touch. I'm really sorry to hear of the problems the storms have caused you and that they left some damage behind

I'm really pleased to hear though that Openreach have now been out and fixed the issue
