      <title>Very slow upload speeds</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi there,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am a new PlusNet customer and I am getting extremely slow upload speeds&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The last test I did I got 20.6 mbps download and 0.40 mbps upload.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is this potentially a problem with my router?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help would be great!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Gary&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;For Community members to be able to help, information from these two sites:-&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL" target="_self"&gt;BT Broadband&lt;/A&gt;(obscuring your phone number) and &lt;A href="https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/" target="_self"&gt;BTW Performance Tester&lt;/A&gt; - Over a wired (ethernet) connection please report the 'Additional Diagnostics', and sight of the Help Desk tab would be a start.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It may also be a good idea to report the results of a Quiet Line Test - dial 17070 option 2 from a (preferably corded) phone. After the confirmation of you phone number, there should be total silence apart from the regular 'Quiet Line Test' announcement. Any other noise - report a PHONE fault first.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;We do not have a 'home phone' here, although it may be something included in our package it's something we have never needed or used.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I also did the BTW performance test you mentioned and got the following results. Sorry I am not technical at all with computers so I am not sure what some of the other things you mentioned meant.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Gary, not having a home phone is a bit of a problem while we still have internet over the BT network, but a cheap corded phone is a useful implement.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Thank you for the BTW speedtest, but we really need the 'Advanced Diagnostics' report for a meaningful result.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The other things I mentioned were the &lt;A href="https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL" target="_blank"&gt;BT Broadband&lt;/A&gt; - just click the link - report and the Help Desk tab from your hub - the picture below should give you an idea of where to find it.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the speeds. I can see that you've since spoken to our Tech Support Team and that an engineer appointment has been booked in order to investigate the matter further. One thing I would say at this stage, based on everything I've seen so far, is that the upload speed is always going to be lower than the download speed and it's not as easy for us to guarantee a minimum rate at which it will come down the line. That isn't to downplay the issue of course, but the estimated upload speed range is 3.5Mbps to 5Mbps for your line and the line test I've run today shows the upstream sync speed to be reaching the router at a rate of 4.2Mbps.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;That having been said, please let us know how the engineer visit goes and we'll be happy to pick this back up for review if there are any persisting issues. I know it's a busy time of the year at the moment, so if you need to cancel or rearrange the appointment before it goes ahead, just give us a shout and we'll be happy to see what can be done &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.plus.net/html/@104CD63F9302A50EF5EC70FE32BB8AA1/images/emoticons/smiley.gif" alt="Smiley" title="Smiley" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
