It doesn't matter if there are 2 pins only.
Are you plugging the extension cable into the right ports?

Trying to move the plusnet fibre box from its position beside the wall socket. Bought a 10m standard RJ11 cable and plugged everything in however the router could not connect to broadband. Is there a different cable I should be using?

I noticed that the cable supplied with router had grey ends and only 2 gold pins whereas the ones online all have 4 pins.
Any ideas?

@kiaranpoland02 Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you have bought a faulty cable.

It would be better if you left the hub next to the Master socket and depending on why you want to move it either use an Ethernet cable to the remote location or extend the mains to the BT Master socket location.
