Hi Gandalf

Thanks for your comments. During breaks my router lights always show blue. I use my laptop in a room about 10 metres away from the router and have tried wi-fi only with no success. In fact the wi-fi signal is a lot weaker (one bar) than it was with my Sky router. Switching wi-fi off at the laptop and using ethernet to powerline from the router then powerline to laptop isn't much better. It has been ever thus. The last couple of days haven't been bad and i've had very few breaks.

I'm pretty used to breaks in service, but over the past two or days the frequency of outages has been rising. I think I must be up to 15 or 20 a day now. I expect its a problem at our local exchange, which is reportedly oversubscribed, or else it involves the wiring from the cabinet to my house.

Over the past few years i've been with BT, Sky and Plusnet (twice) and this problem has never been solved so it looks like something I'll just have to put up with. The drops themselves are not long lasting - usually about five minutes - but its a bit of a pain when watching football, golf or tennis.

Sigh

Hi @jim13

I'm really sorry to see you're having issues with your connection.

I've tested your line today and the tests aren't showing any issues and your connection to your router looks stable.

I've attached a picture below showing this.

Does the light on the front of your router change colour when your connection drops? Also are your devices all connecting to your router wirelessly or do you have laptop/computer plugged into your router you have issues on too?

Hello @jim13

Thanks a lot for your response. I've just gone into your router settings and have split the SSID's on your router, this personally worked for me when I experienced the same issues you have described above. I've also changed the WIFI channels on your router to chose that are best for your environment. See how you get on for the next few days and fee; free to reach out if you still have problems.
