Just switched to plusnet and have been unable to use my amazon fire stick since then. It buffers all the time. I viewed historic posts but unable to see a suitable response

@Soo Welcome to the forum.

I’m guessing that you have a Hub One and you are using wireless?

Try separating the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, see https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/2-4ghz-and-or-5ghz-best-practice/m-p/1351966#M840.

Try each band in turn and use the best.

Hi I amended as suggested. When I went onto the firestick settings to select the 5ghz it wouldn't let me select it. Do you know if I have to delete the original plusnet network. I'm a little apprehensive in case I lose all connectivity. The signal strength is only fair . Do you know if the channel you are using changes anything. Currently it is channel 11. Sorry a bit of a novice when it comes to these things. Although it shows connected to the network on the firestick to start off with the it looks as if I lose connection almost straight away.

@Soo

What speed have you been promised and what do you get when testing with a wired connection?

Alternatively, 2.4 GHz has a greater range than 5GHz, which tends to be faster. This might be a range problem or a problem with the 5GHz band, see https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Hub-One-5GHz-WiFi-issue/m-p/1696363#M15510, you may wish to join this thread and get a firmware update.

A different channel on the 2.4 GHz band might help, try channels 1 or 6.

If you want a budget hub with better WiFi spend about £20 on an auction site for a Smarthub 6, Follow the links in this post for setting instructions https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-A-BT-Smarthub-An-Update/m-p/1795292#M24601
