Are you actually on Full Fibre (FTTP) or FTTC (part fibre to the cab)? In either case, what is your area code?

No broadband for Nine Days

This is now nine days without broadband. I've been told it's a 'major outage', but that's it! No further details. The Plusnet Question page is just the odd bit of jargan, and the Question being on hold or released. What the point of telling me to go there when it doesn't tell me anytihng is I don't know.

I've made three phone calls, and again no information apart from telling me Openreach don't work weekends (unbelievable), and a lot of vague possibilities with little onus on going to find out. In fact on the last call the person got all huffy as I was trying to explain they cannot access my router.

I get if there is an issue then it needs to be resolved. However, Plusnet's 'award winning' customer service needs to actually keep their customers properly informed as to what's going on.

full fibre FTTP. It's an outage of the whole village apart from those on Quickline.

Ah, so it is an Openreach network fault. OR do not keep ISPs updated, so they can't update end-users.

Utterly ridiculous. So customers are just left in the dark not knowing if or when their broadband will be working.

I agree it is ridiculous, but that is how OFCOM allow OR to work.

There used to be a status page that reported on OR outages etc. However some years ago that was removed as management believed that publicizing problems made Plusnet look bad. (better to have a few people suffer unknown problems than to let everyone know some people are suffering?)

Via Zen's link to the OR database, so can end-users, but the information contained therein is quite often sparse, to put it politely.
