@atom33 I am still a little confused, because I still think you have two issues which you are conflating.

jab1 you are correct....connection drops.....or for example "a re-allocation of resources?"...as when school lets out the connection becomes grindingly slow....

The bit in italics above is nothing what so ever to do with the email issue - which I will leave for others ( @PhilipHeyes ?) to try and help you with - but more to do with the condition of the link between your computer and the 'outside world'.

As you are with Plusnet, I assume you are using a Plusnet Hub2? Does that plug into your telephone master socket?

I will pick up the 'connection'/speed issue tomorrow, when I have the answer to the question above, but expect further questions, based on your reply. i appreciate you are a 'non-techie', so I will keep my questions/suggestions as simple as I can, but please answer them as clearly as you can, so we don't go down blind alleys.

Experiencing something similar to Axotol's post on here....with complications of being unable to reply to random emails....

This has been going on since April as well - the connection just drops out and reconnect a few minutes later....

But I've also had problems replying to emails...it appears to be quite random...
NHS emails that require a reply, friends in the US that I occasionaly email with, organisations that require a reply....'unable to send' is the message I receive....

BT is my email provider...they say the problem is not with them, Mailbird is the app I use....If I send thru the BT website I'm fine...but thru the mailbird app...it is random....like the timeouts.

Mailbird and BT email suggest that the time outs are causing rejections on the recipients end or that "some IP ranges get flagged by gov't or large organization mailservers, and if they confirm an IP level block on yourside, that would explain a recipient side rejection as, well"

What's going on Plusnet?

I'm not blaming Plusnet. I'm trying to find a solution. I spent a lot of time on the phone with BT to work out if it was at their end and they said everything was ok there, and that is was either Mailbird or the the line dropping .....or something between BT and Plusnet?

OK. You appear to be having two distinct problems - email transmission/receipt and connection issues - am I correct?

What kind of internet connection do you have - FTTC or FTTP?

Is your email address an '@accountname.plus.com' (or one of the ones now in the Plusnet family)?

As I said - a rather confusing original post, and a topic I am going to refrain from responding to until we know what the issue(s) is/are.

and that has been talked about with BT and Mailbird, that that slow down is causing emails not to be picked up, or to be refused ........But it is only my replies..a newly written email doesn't seem to suffer.the same fate...
