We have FTTP but it is RFoG from VM.

So a key question is fibre from who as this controls which ISPs can be your supplier.

This link can give a current and forward looking view to Openreach (OR) fibre coverage :

https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker

Also consider what your plan is for the landline, i.e. do you want to retain the landline number in service ?

Use the checker

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
It see what is available for you. Take a screen shot, remove your personal details and post it here. Others will be able to state what you can get and if there appears to be any issues. Also, post how you get your existing service, pole or hole.

Does this site say your house can get Full Fibre ? https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

If it does, and assuming you are with Plusnet, give them a call and discuss your options.

As to connecting to the computer, it is merely a case of disconnecting one cable from the Hub and replacing it with another.

Any further questions, do not hesitate to ask.

When you login to your members centre account does it show any upgrade options for Full Fibre products?

IMPORTANT - You can only order Full Fibre with plusnet if the infrastructure is supplied by Openreach.

The BT Wholesale link supplied is the best starting point.

EDIT: this link should prove a list Comms Providers for your location https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/broadband-coverage

@sujowins1972

Whoever is supplying the Full Fibre you need to place an order. If it's OpenReach then PlusNet can supply. If it's anyone else then PN will be unable to supply a service.

Assuming it's OR, then the following gives an idea of what to expect. Note you don't need a double power socket. The router connects via an ethernet cable so can go anywhere you're happy to run said cable.

https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/full-fibre-broadband-installation-checklist

The install procedure would be similar for any AltNet but it would be a completeley new account. If you then cancel your PN account you may be liable for ETC's.
