Sorry for the late reply, but I did say I am wired so yeah I am using a ethernet cable.

I wonder if you have a failing cable with an intermittent fault. If you get a fault on a single core of an 8 core cat5 cable, then its possible for it to continue to work, but at 100Mb instead of 1Gb.

Was just doing your usual net things, watching streams etc, thought to myself not played STALKER 2 for a while, ill download it... noticed it is sitting at 9MB/s for download... thought that is strange.

Then tried a couple of speed tests - about the same. I am on a 1gb connection and wired.

Restarted the router and all that jazz, still the same. Used the texting service for it to test the line and it comes back as "everything is fine", it isn't. It's as if my config file has been downgraded to old 60mb+.

So just wanted to see if others had the same problem in the area to rule out if just me or not.

EDIT: Returned back to normal, this is twice this has happened this month - first time also included downtime for 2hrs.

Are you connected via an Ethernet cable? This speed is typical of a 2.4 GHz wireless connection.

Sorry for the late reply, but I did say I am wired so yeah I am using a ethernet cable.

The situation remedied itself, nothing in the logs hints at why it happened. But as said earlier this month think it was on the 6th Jan it happened then too, but then followed 2hrs of downtime.

The post was just to see if others had a problem in the area too, to ascertain if it was a region or just myself that had the problem.
