topic Installation method in Full Fibre

Installation method

I'm considering upgrading to full fibre, but wondered as to the installation method.

I have a block paved front drive - would they need to take up some of the blocks to lay cables, or are the cables to the home the same method as the current ones (via high pole)?

In that case, the Fibre cable will take a similar route as the existing cable from the pole. As a starting point the fibre will come into your house where the current copper cable enters.

However, there is a certain leeway as to where the ONT goes (and indeed, the external CSP). If you want to change location of the incoming signal it may be possible. Just remember the ONT needs power.

The router is connected via ethernet cable so can go anywhere you're happy to run said cable.

You discuss with the installer on the day as to what's to be done. If you want to change, and it's possible, they should work with you.
