Asus DSL-AC68U settings

Hi,

I've recently moved to PlusNet's FTTP service. I want to drop Plusnet's Hub 2 router and use my own Asus DSL-AC68U router. I can configure this so one of the ethernet ports is the WAN connection. I've tried setting it up using the settings described here https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/ but I can't get the router to connect to the internet.

Has anyone here managed to set this up successfully?

@Poodley welcome to the forum.

I take it you have configured the Asus device to be a router only device?

The ONT can be seen as an Openreach modem; these are the required settings

Broadband username or login name	yourusername@plusdsl.net
Connection type or encapsulation	PPPoE Always On
Password	The password you use to log in to the My Account

EDIT: The ONT provides the required VLAN 101

I've been using this router using one Ethernet port as the WAN connection for years with a Virgin router in "pass through modem mode" so I'd entered the settings you describe.

The one thing I was doing wrong was not re-booting the router to get it to actually sign onto the WAN. Doh!
