topic Full Fibre installation - worried about driveway damage in Full Fibre

Going to renew our broadband later this month and now pretty much only option seems to be full fibre to the house. I appreciate that this is good news but our driveway was recently freshly re-done with tarmac with brick edging. We are worried that when we go for the installation, the driveway will need to be dug up in places and won't look the same afterwards.

Is there any way of getting an engineer advise on the work required ahead of placing an order?

Thanks for the information.

You appear to have two options - both of which result in the loss of your landline (the third option is to renew "as is" until the phone goes).

You can move to a SOGEA connection which is basically internet without the phone. No work required at your property.

Or you can move to Full Fibre. The narrative suggests a duct is in place so the fibre cable would be run through this and would appear above ground at the same location as the current copper cable. The Checker is showing no indication that any digging is required.

Thanks Brian, that's re-assuring. We don't need a landline (haven't had/used one for years).

You discuss the install on the day with whoever turns up to agree the work. Unless the existing connection has been surrounded by tarmac then I see no problems.

As ever, you only find out on the day.
