Is there anyway to check congestion on FTTP

I have the 900 down and 100 up FTTP service. When I joined the connect at my router to the modem was 894 down and 107 up. Over the past few weeks I've notice a drop in speeds. I am currently connecting a 701 down and 107 up (this is at mid night). The 701 drops close to 500 down in the day time. Is there any way to see if there is congestion on my FTTC line or cabinet that could explain this drop in speed.

No changes have been made to the router or any other network stuff over the period. Have tried all the usual stuff but no improvements.

The number 1 question: is this over wireless or are you connected viar an Ethgernet cable?

If wireless, have you tried Ethernet?

Can't answer you specific question but your Full Fibre connection goes nowhere near your local FTTC cabinet. It runs all the way to a Main Exchange which may or may not be your local Exchange.

You can check which Exchange you're on by using the Address version of the following.

This test is directly from the router wired to the modem not wifi involved.

Just checked again and I'm on FTTC not FTTP.

Got the attached from BT Wholesale. It say congested duct - I suppose that's why I am not getting the speeds I used to?

@Bustermagic1 Reading A) your original post and B) that BTW report, you are on FTTP. However, the 'congested duct' has nothing to do with your speed, that merely means Openreach would have difficulty in installing any further cables.

Are you connected over Ethernet from the router to your machine?

Alternatively, have you an ONT in your house which would have replaced the Master Socket?

The congested duct is to do with installs, not the service provided.

@bmc As the original post, and the BTW report indicate, the OP has an FTTP connection at 900Mb/s.

I am on Full Fibre 900 and yes have an ONT fitted instead of the master socket.
