Any chance you can run ethernet cable - either internally or external? Gives a solid starting point in whatever room it terminates and is future proof.

Wifi extender

Hi... I'm just wondering if anyone can help with wifi extenders, or something similar? I've had the new full fibre installed but the router is quite far from my living room, so it's pretty much a dead zone. Cannot use my fire stick and no wifi on phones, tablet etc.

Please help 🙏

Thanks for replying.

I possibly could. I'm a complete novice in this area but would that help with multiple devices?

If the best route is to go external then you can get somebody in to do it.

You can either plug in a WiFi Access Point (WAP) to the cable or an ethernet switch (which needs power) to run one or more wired connections plus a WAP. The WAP would have the full speed of your service available (unless other devices are connected to the router) as though it was the router.

Alternatively, you can plug the cable into the ONT and have the router plugged into the other end.

A wired access point or repurposed router is what I would recommend to resolve your dead spots
