topic Fibre Broadband Down in Full Fibre

Good morning,

So my broadband went down 3 days ago (Tuesday) and reported to Plusnet at approx 4pm. After checks told it was an external fault and would be reported to Openreach. Told they couldn't be contacted until they'd been given 2 days to fix problem.

After 2 days no better. Called Plusnet again and was told initially that there was no news from Openreach. The very nice lady then told me should would look at a different contact. I was then told that Openreach said there was a major service outage and it could be 10th January at 6pm before I was reconnected! Over a week!

I find it incredible that Plusnet didn't know in the first place there was a major service outage. Secondly this "major service outage" seems to be affecting nobody else but me as there is no notice of it anywhere on the Plusnet website or the internet.

Do I suspect it's a problem somewhere within Plusnet's servers they are not telling me about?

As you can imagine it's causing me considerable problems. From 300Mbs download to nothing.

I'm having to write this using the broadband at my local sports club.

I get the feeling I'm not being given the whole truth from Plusnet!

Yours frustrated

Plusnet dont tend to actively monitor and publish MSO details

You could try checking your area using https://status.zen.co.uk/broadband/ which links to the Openreach status information

Many thanks MisterW. Very helpful.

Usually very pleased with Plusnet and have been with them for several years.

Guess I will have to keep my fingers crossed that Openreach fix the problem before 10th.

Internet on 4G in my area on the phone not good.
