Noted, and thanks! The static block was something we used many years ago now (this account has been open for over two decades) but the internet world has changed significantly in that time. Sadly IP6 never really took off but other network fudges now mean I can reluctantly say goodbye to my small, static part of the internet. Great spot though! Especially on a Sunday night. As I mentioned before, you'll be missed here!

Phone service apart, have PlusNet done something sensible in calling the FTTP options

Full Fibre 38

Full Fibre 74

Full Fibre 145

The OR wholesale products are 40/10, 80/20 & 150/? with a bit of overhead reducing speeds. Hence when people run speed tests they'll get near their advertised speeds - and be happy!!!

I just got 37.13 & 10.85 abeit with a disappointing ping of 26.

From what I can see, these are the FTTP products we're offering. As you can tell, there's a pattern.

36/10 (40/10 provision)

74/20 (80/20 provision)

145/30 (160/30 provision)

300/50 (330/50 provision)

500/75 (550/75 provision)

There is an approximate pattern - 80/20 and 160/30 are out of step (and not instep with each other) and a little more optimistic than the others! 🤔

You can but ask. You would need to go on contract so ask about prices. You at least should get a Hub2 out of it.

The real complication would be your phone line if you still use copper for this. As things stand you might lose it - @Gandalf might be able to shed some light on matters.

I'm on the trial too.I don't know if being a business account will make a difference, but I have just ported my number successfully, leaving the fttp service intact. Many others have already done this over the years.

You probably need to liaise with @Gandalf who babysat the procedure and ensured that the porting away of my landline number did not kill the broadband account.

Heya, I've just checked and I'm afraid that our new FTTP service is just for residential accounts, not business. I don't know whether if or when we'll offer FTTP for business accounts outside of the legacy trial.

For residential, you can absolutely upgrade an existing legacy FTTP trial service or just renew a contract on the equivalent Full Fibre product. Whether you can port your landline number away from us while doing so is a good question. It's not possible for those upgrading from ADSL/FTTC to FTTP, but for those already on FTTP, I've asked!

As soon as I know more, I'll post back. Sorry for the obvious disappointment though.

I had raised this with the Project Team and there is good news on this front. We're ultimately wanting to eventually migrate those on the legacy FTTP trial to the new product, but there's currently no plan or process in place to do that.

However, for the time being, if you do have FTTP as part of the legacy trial on a residential account, then I've been given the green light that you can port your landline number away from us while moving onto the new product.

So I can figure out the best way to go about it, anyone fancy giving it a go?
