Take a scout round the internet and 125Mbps does appear to be about it with the Switch

The claims of 1Gbs have reported the link rate to the Hub / Router,
odds on there are zero photos / clips confirming the claimed speeds.

Test the TP Link adaptor on a speed test with your PC and odds on it passes 125Mb/s
assuming you have a faster internet service and are direct cabled to the Hub / Router.

Hi looking for advice, got a TP Link UE306 RJ45 > USB 3.0 adapter for my Nintendo Switch, but the Switch only hits 125mb/s at best.

The Switch has USB 3.0 sockets which support 1gb/s, no matter what cat6 or 7 cable I use it always hits that 125mb/s speed >.<

The WIFI connection does way better, but at times drops to 2.4 band from 5, so the speeds slump then. Which is why I grabbed the adapter which I have seen people say is great and works fine with many getting their 1gb/s speeds on it.

So I am at a bit of a loss, the LAN port shows it connecting at full 1gb

16:25:29, 18 Aug.

A device connected to Ethernet port 2

16:25:29, 18 Aug.

Wire Lan Port 2 up, Speed 1000 Mbps

With no signs of it dropping say to 100Mbps or the dreaded 10Mbps

Tried other ports, the cat7 going to my PC etc.

Hopefully someone else has come across this and found out a fix. Thanks in advance.

I am on 1gb/s net, the speeds I listed in the original post are in bits and not bytes incase people accidently see it as bytes.

But I think you are right, seems some people are just boasting nonsense on forums etc. Seems 180mb/s is the top speed reported. Guess I should just use the WIFI and hope it stays on the 5 band lol

Wi-Fi ... perhaps not !

Consider how WI-Fi works, it is half duplex so only operates in one direction at a time, this piles on the latency and the jitter.

A network cable is full duplex, data goes in both directions at the same time, plus USB 3 network adaptors have almost no latency or jitter issues.

For an interactive activity such a game play, VoIP & Video Conf Calls give me a cabled network connection every time.

Sorry I meant for downloading stuff to the Switch itself, then switch to wired for gaming itself. My bad for not being specific.
