    <description>Hi John, thanks for the reply.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm going to ditch the landline.  I want to stay with Plusnet because I've had zero issues over many years.  I really just want to know if I'll be penalised for switching contract early, even if it's at Plusnets invitation.  I wouldn't have thought so but just wanted to check.  Cheers.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi folks, hope you can help.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I have received a marketing email inviting me to move to Broadband Only but my current contract still has 7 months to run.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If I switch to the new contract am I going to pay a penalty for the remaining 7 months?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Have tried ringing Plusnet but it's around a 20 minute wait!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

Come January next year, the phone service will disappear as Openreach are switching the service off. If you move to a broadband-only service now, you will avoid the chaos which could possibly ensue at that time, as all of a sudden potentially thousands of people will have to find a phone service provider.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you make the switch now, it will be much easier to find an alternative VoIP provider if you wish to retain a 'landline' phone service.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you switch now, you existing contract will be closed, FOC, but you will have to take out a new, probably two-year, contract.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>The deal is fine John, I just don't want to be penalised for ending my existing contract early and there is no way of knowing if this will happen by accepting the new deal online.  I guess I'll just have to try ringing them tomorrow and hope they answer the phone quicker.  Customer service is not what it was sadly.</description>

&lt;P&gt;To sum the answers to your question up, you have two options , neither of which have any associated cancellation charges:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;!. If you no longer want a landline phone, swap to a new Plusnet 'broadband' only SoGEA or Full Fibre contract.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2. If you want to keep the landline phone, ask Plusnet to arrange a transfer to EE.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;No doubt others will tell you that there is the more difficult varient of taking option 1 and moving the landline number to a third party VoIP provider.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Either way, you will have to decide which option to take before the end of the year.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
