Router recomendations

I'll be moving my PC soon into a different room and SWMBO doesn't want Ethernet cables trailing around even though I have a good, flat, CAT 6 unused. As the Hub 2 doesn't support Wifi 6 I'll best be looking for a new router.

The new location will be the room next to the old one and the new router will be close to the door of the old room. I don't have a large budget so wondered if something like the TP Link Archer AX12 would suffice or should I be looking to spend a little more?

Have a look at the FritzBox 7530AX - a well regarded router with WiFi 6 (I believe). Less than £60.

@Mav the AX12 will give around 600Mb throughput on the 5ghz band with Wifi 6 capable clients. So unless you've got an FF900 connection or wish to future-proof, then it will handle your max throughput.

The tether app is handy as you can setup/manage the device remotely from your smart phone.

For what it is worth I have a TP-Link AX53 with FF900

I might think about adding a Ubiquiti WiFi "disk" to the Plusnet router.

As far as I know they can be used "stand alone" and don't need a whole Ubiquiti system.

They are well regarded for WiFi coverage.

Have a look at the FritzBox 7530AX - a well regarded router with WiFi 6 (I believe). Less than £60.

I am very happy with my FritzBox 7530AX on VDSL - it also includes VOIP (with DECT) and answerphone, NAS facilities, VPN connections, Mesh WiFi, Guest wifi Regular firmware updates.

I might ask Zen for one to replace my 7530 when it comes to renewal time, but I'm happy with what I've got, for now. 😀

If you do, the 7530 will work as a mesh repeater for the 7530AX (though not Wifi 6)

In my tiny hovel, I don't need a mesh. I get full strength in the back bedroom, on WiFi.😁
