If you still have a phone line then in the reasonable near future you will lose it and your internet service will transfer to a SOGEA line - this is basicaly FTTC with no phone service attached.

Your neighbours may decide to move one day - you never know.

Well for the time being , your copper line can still be used to supply broadband.

As @jab1 says, hopefully Openreach will install FTTP sooner or later. Presumably Openreach already have wayleaves in place to provide the copper connections and wont need the neighbours permission to upgrade them to FTTP

Does the installation need access to private land/property? As far as the public highway is concerned, I understand that full fibre installation is a permitted development, so requires no planning permission.

Is City Fibre the only player in town?

They ought to be able to use BT ducts by agreement; given that they already have wayleaves, that ought to negate your neighbour's obstruction. That said, wayleaves do not last forever.

FTTP is passive - i.e. it doesn't need power.

You appear to have a Direct in Ground installation - if anyone in the close wants FTTP, whoever installs it will need to lay ducting - FTTP cables cannot be laid direct in ground.

If your current supply is "Direct in Ground" the OpenReach would need to lay ducts to supply Full Fibre. They may, or may not, already have wayleaves in place from the original copper installation. If not, would OR be allowed to dig a trench for ducting. If no again then you're stuck on a FTTC service using the last mile of copper from the Cabinet.

If you put your address in the following what does it say about Full Fibre - www.openreach.co.uk
