Static public ip

Hi guys, I just read that PlusNet have stopped issuing static ip's from the end of 2024. I have a contract with Plusnet that is ending next month and I would like to continue with a new 2 year contract, but I need my static ip as I run my own home lab and mail servers. If I renew will I keep the static ip.
I'm looking for an answer from someone who is from Plusnet and authorised to say yes or no as I don't want to end up with a two year contract and no static ip without first getting an official reply

@Halfhidden I'm not PN staff, but have spent longer on these forums than most of them. If you renew, your static IP remains.

I was with Plusnet for 23 years, had a /30 IPv4 block of 4 static WAN IP addresses, and went though many upgrades and contract renewals, and never had a problem with my static IPs.

In the VERY unlikely chance that something does go wrong with your static IP on contract renewal, then reply to the topic that I referenced above, and tag Dave so he can ensure that you have a static IP address restored to your account.

A straight renewal does not affect your account settings, of which the static IP is a component. The issue only arises in a very few cases where a product change - usually FTTC>FTTP - is involved.

@Halfhidden, you also keep your static IP if you upgrade from FTTC to FTTP.
That is the current position atm.

Thanks guys this is all very reassuring.
I already have 900mbFTTP and have been very happy with Plusnet and really don't want to change. The community is one of the best I've come across.
So I'll go for the new contract and keep my fingers crossed.

@mystreet1 Unless I have missed it, the OP is merely renewing an existing contract, not changing product.

Hi @jab1,

No, you did not miss it, but when they renew if they were offer FTTP as an upgrade/renewal then they have the reassurance that they would not lose their fixed IP.
But as they are already on FTTP it is not an issue for them.
