My ISP told me BTw Further Diagnostics never work anymore as BTw given up on it. Because there is no need for that anymore as more and more FTTP won't need it. Strange decision by BTw.

I try test it for my parents line from Plusnet as BBEU never work. Access Line ID never work for SoGEA. BTw are useless!

BT Speed Test - as accessed via the Plusnet Hub 2 router - is not working again.

This is the basic speed test. The additional diagnostic tests have not worked at all for many months now.

Here what my ISP say to me:

Hi Phil,

We don't recommend the BTW speed test anymore as we transition into full fibre. The BTW tester has not worked correctly for literally years.

I've not used it for a long while - tend to use either: https://www.speedtest.net/ or https://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest , both of which are fairly consistent.

Pointless to log in router for the speed test! Not many peoples can't be bother to logged into 192.168.1.254 with username and password.

@goldenfibre I didn't know that was an 'option' - I've never used the Hub2 as I moved from ADSL using a TG582N router with PN to another ISP for FTTC, using a Fritz!Box.

I agree it is pointless logging into the Hub for a speed test, in fact I would never think of it - I have always, for the ~30 years I've had the internet, used a direct link to a dedicated test site.

You never needed to "log in" to the Hub 2 router to use the BT speed test via the router.

Currently, the speed test page is blank: so it has been killed, or it has been taken down while it is being repaired.

@pvmb Sorry - both @goldenfibre and myself obviously misinterpreted your comment, I certainly didn't quite understand what you were on about.

I suspect that BT/OR have decided in their 'wisdom' to remove another 'customer assistance' bit of technology - wouldn't surprise me in the slightest as the BT Group as a whole is currently trying to recreate 'GPO Telephones' of old.

Dan - I can get to the home page for the BTW tester, but clicking 'GO' just brings up the picture below:

In other words - it is either borked or intentionally stopped.

It's been like that for a while a couple of weeks now, Additional Diagnostic have not worked for some time, personally I wouldn't really bother using it at all.
