Static IP PTR record

I have seen a few posts about setting up a PTR dns record for enabling running an email server with a static IP. I have been running an email server at home for years, but recently have been getting emails bounced by some senders and it looks like I need this set up for me. Would you be able to assist?

Has there been any updates on this? A support question was raised on the 11/12 with an ETA of 7 working days, but it has gone quiet since then. Has the holidays slowed things down?

Hey there @rob-spencer I tried calling you, however, I was able to only leave a voicemail.

I'm sorry to see that the task has not been completed yet and had to get back in touch. I have just had a look with @Windings and the task was rejected because there are no PTR records set up yet.

In order for us to change the PTR records, you need to set it up on your side first on the dedicated server that you are using, please ensure the A record is set up first and that is pointing to the static IP, once this is done, we will be able to re-raise it with our NetOps team.

Please let me know once that's done and I'll do the rest!

Hi @Tina11192 / @Windings ,

An A record currently exists for my domain (mail.rob-spencer.com) which points to my static IP. Is there anything else I need to add to my DNS configuration?

Looking at similar requests that is all that seemed to be required.
