Hello,

I've moved to a static IP and would like to change the rDNS name. Please can this be changed to my IP address instead of the account username?

Tagging for a review of policy on this matter.

There are a number of recent requests to remove the account name form the rDNS entry. Invariably users do not want the rDNS to reveal the account name (however technically reasonable that might be) therefore each needs to raise a request for the comms team guys to raise a request elsewhere.

It has been raised before: can the DEFAULT for rDNS please be changed to <IP-address>.plus.com to that...

Users do not need to request the removal of their account name
Busy staff do not need to (a) understand the request and (b) make a request elsewhere
Very busy back room staff are not distracted by trivial matters
