Can't enable static IP

My FTTP switch-over went live yesterday - all good except that I can't seem to enable static IP in the 'Add-ons' page.

Current Status : You are currently using a dynamic IP address

Clicking Activate button does nothing - just returns back to showing the same thing.

I paid the £5 before it all went live, so am presuming this has mucked things up.

Any advice on fixing this?

The Add ons page for static IP hasnt worked for a while.

One of the Plusnet Help team will (hopefully) pick this thread up and enable your static IP manually

Hey there @rpdm I have enabled it now. Please can you turn the router off and back on and see if it has worked.

A router reset appears to keep the IP address the same, although the plusnet page still says I’m using a dynamic address.

It seems to not have budged from our side so I will get my colleague to check it in the morning and if not we will need to raise a task to sort it. Sorry about this.

I've nudged Plus.net support as there's still no sign of action on this.

After a re-connection I've been given a different IP address, so definitely not static yet 😞

@rpdm - That's done the trick. Just reboot your router to get it assigned.

Hey there @martynhsmith I have done some adjustments to the static IP component on the account but I just need to give it 24 hours to see if it will work from there. If it doesn't then I will raise it to our network team.

@IanRLowe - I'm having issues replying to the DM but I got your message. I'm having issues sorting the static IP too, it's not going well. It's not clear if it's worked not but can you reboot the router and let me know when you have. Cheers.

I think it may have worked mate - I just bounced the interface on our firewall, and got assigned a new IP address in a completely different range - 51.x.x.x

@IanRLowe - That promising I just can't be 100% as the information isn't showing on my end to 100% confirm it's been assigned dynamically or static so keep an eye out to see if it changes and if it does let us know.

@James30 - so, I have bounced the interface a couple of times, and it's getting the same IP address each time.

I'll give it a day or so then start pointing DNS at it etc.

as a side question, do we need to do anything specific to make sure that the Static IP is not included in PLUS Net's "No Servers" declaration? I still host a legacy mail server, and would rather not be ORBLed every few weeks...

Twenty hours ago it changed (and humped my VPN link between home and office, naturally).

I have a ticket raised for this now/again - come on plus net. Static IP address allocation isn't hard...

AFAIK the static IP range starts 212 - so anything else its probably dynamic.
