Hello,

It would appear that your hint is 'on target', as I do have parental filters on, however they were on until the day before yesteday too, and I could still access tor project website and use tor as a browser all the time without any problems.
Another timeline coincidence is that about the same time (the day before yesterday), MS built-in antivirus started flagging and blocking tor.exe as 'malicious'. It's been fixed in their av signature update, but I wonder if that could have, somehow, triggered some plusnet systems to block their site as precaution.
But, ultimately, I should have started with 'the usual suspect': the problem began about the time of a new tor update, which I installed. So, back to front 'solution': tor 12.5.5 dated 27th September works without any problems. Which does not solve the issue of what triggers blocking their website on plusnet, but then, I guess, this will get sorted, eventually, plus their site is easily accessible via opera proxy (presumably via firefox equivalent too, as well as vpns).

Regards,

unable to connect via tor today

Hello,As of today I've been unable to use tor browser (won't connect, in bridge mode either)
Then I went to tor website (on firexfox), and got this:
An error occurred during a connection to www.torproject.org. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).
Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

I saw in another thread (unable to access plusnet website) that the abovementioned message might be related to chromium-based browser(s). I have tried chrome and edge, with the same, nil effect. With opera it's nil too, UNLESS I turn on proxy and then I can open tor project site. So, the above suggestion, as the issue might have something to do with chromium-based misconfiguration doesn't work with chromium-based opera in proxy mode?

Should I be worried?
Or, more importantly, how to solve this?

Regards,
n.

I turned off all security disabled malwarebytes and mcafee extensions and still could not access the main site using Chrome. (I can access via MS Edge).

I can access this forum via Chrome .

Not satisfactory but I guess I will have to live with that .
